Mysore University Malnad Zone Inter Collegiate Men Kabaddi Tournament 2023-24 at SAFG College

Mysore University Malnad Zone Inter College Men Kabaddi and Tournament 2023-24 at SAFG College is being organised by the Bhaskara J., Physical Director, Physical Education and Sports Department. The tournament was inaugurated by Abhishek K.S., Pro-Kabaddi Player.  Dr. M.K. Manjunatha, Principal SAFG, spoke about history of the Kabaddi and Prakash Kumar C., the Convener of the Mysore University Malnad Zone Intercollegiate tournament, advised the athletes to follow game rules and regulations.

The Kabaddi Tournament comprised fourteen teams. The winner of this competition is Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna. 

Government Science College in Hassan was the runner-up in the tournament.

General Bipin Rawath First Grade Constituent College, Hetturu team secured second runner-up in the tournament.

Temple Cleaning Activity

On March 27, 2024, the Bharat Scouts and Guides unit arranged a temple cleaning event. On this auspicious day, Rovers and Rangers from the Bharat Scouts and Guides units eagerly engaged in this activity. Our crew in the Channarayapatna Taluk, Hassan district, has cleaned the prisms and kalyani of the Kolada Anjaneya (Hanuman) temple. Ranger’s commander    Smt. Niroosha M.R. and Rovers leader Dr. Praveen Kumar S. led the exercise. 

Taluk Level Inter College Essay Writing Competition

A Taluk level intercollege essay competition on the topic of "Impact of online betting on society and remedies" was held by the Government First Grade College in Hirisave on March 26, 2024. Two of our students, Amulay R, a second semester B.COM student, and Gowtham K.T., a second semester B.A. student, participated in the essay writing competition and won the consolation prize, which is a cash prize of 1000/- rupees. The coordinator was Dr. Praveen Kumar S., head of the sociology department.

A Special Lecture Programme Kannada Pada Sampattu"

On 26-03-2024 at 10.30am, A special lecture programme titled “Pada Sampattu” organised by The Department of Kannada. A programme commence with invocation by Kum. Apoorva, Mrs. Niroosha M R Head, Department of Kannada welcomed the gathering. 

The Chief Guest inaugurated the programme watered the plant. Mr. Shivappa R K Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada delivered the inaugural address. The chief guest Mr. Nagaraj has the Pseudonym Omkarapriya Bagepalli. He was founder president of ‘Kannada Samskruthi Seva Bharati’. He was retired employ, Department of Women and Child Development. He told that, Kannada language has a history of thousands of years and also rich in words. He suggested the students use Kannada more. 

Dr. M.K. Manjunatha, Principal chaired the programme. He suggested the use Kannada and save Kannada. Vote of thanks expressed by Kum. K.L. Rakshitha. 

Overall, the special lecture programme was a success.
