Special Lecture Programme on “English Language Culture and Career"

 The Department of English organised a special lecture programme entitled “English Language Culture and Career” on 04/06/2025. At the outset Mr Ningaraju, Head of the Department, welcomed the chief guest and the participants in the programme. Soon after the welcome speech, the programme was inaugurated by watering a plant as a sign of growth by the chief guest, Ravindra Babu A.S., Assistant Professor of English at Hassan University, along with faculty members of the institution, around 11:30 AM.

The chief guest advised the students in his speech that if they make the English mental habituation, then it can bear fruit in future days. Learning the English language not only shapes the moral, spiritual and cultural values but also builds human personality. Resuming his speech, he said that in modern days, success lies in developing personality and habituating soft skills.

Dr M.K. Manjunatha, principal, stated in his presidential address that learning the English language opens the various windows for the skilled youths of modern days.

Mr. Ningaraju, Head, Department of English, opined that language attracts the people and creates so many avenues for their future. Learning English from simple to complex is the only way to enhance the fluency of any language. A person who must have passion and involvement, suppose he intends to learn any language.

Finally, Mr. Sridhar, Head, Department of Commerce, expressed a vote of thanks to all the participants. Ms Kavana C.K. and faculty of the Department of English, Shivappa , Dr. NT Nagaraju, Niroosha , Siddaraju and other faculty members from various departments witnessed the programme.

Special lecture programme on ‘English for Employability’

 Department of English organised a special lecture programme on English for Employability ‘on 28-11-2024 at Seminar Hall. In the beginning the invocation song has been sung by Hemashree and team, I BSc. Soon after the invocation Mr.Ningaraju,Head Department of English welcomed the chief guest and the dignitaries on the stage. After that the programme has been inaugurated at 11AM, through watering plant as a symbol of growth of hopes and dreams in future.

 In his inaugural address the chief guest suggested to the students that in modern days the proficiency of English is often essential for career success, especially in international or multicultural environments. It involves not only mastering grammar and vocabulary but also understanding communication styles, professional terminology, and soft skills that help individuals effectively navigate the world of work.

In the presidential address Dr. M.K Manjunath, principal advised the students that Words and phrases that are common in everyday office environments, such as phrases for finding out career after the graduation therefore students must inculcate the hobbies of learning new words by reading newspapers.

Finally its concluded expressing vote of thanks by Narasimhamurthy P,assistant professor of commerce to the participants guests , faculty members, from various departments and students.

 Screened a  Macbeth Movie for 3rd semester Students  from the Department of English on 11/01/2023.

It was very helpful to the students to comprehend Shakespeare's Play each Act and Scenes.

 Essay writing competition was held on 16/12/2022 from the Department of English on social and Environmental sustainability of traveling within family Network.

Totally 32 students from BA,BSc and BCOM were actively participated in the competition.
