Eco Ganesh Utsav – Idol Making Competition

 On 25th August 2025, the Bharath Scouts and Guides Unit organized an Eco Ganesh Utsav – Idol Making Competition. The main objective of the event was to create awareness among students about the importance of celebrating festivals in an eco-friendly manner.

Students actively participated in the competition by preparing creative and beautiful idols of Lord Ganesha using eco-friendly materials such as clay, paper, and natural colors. The event was conducted as part of the Gowri-Ganesh festival celebrations, encouraging sustainable practices and reducing environmental pollution caused by plaster of Paris idols.

The programme highlighted the need to protect nature while upholding cultural traditions. The enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the participants made the event a grand success.

Workshop On Rajyapuraskar Exam

 On May 29, 2025, the Bharat Scouts and Guides organized a programme titled "Workshop on Rajyapuraskar Exam." The chief guest for the event was Mrs. Priyanka, District Organising Commissioner, who guided the rangers and rovers on the process of applying for the Rajyapuraskar Award. She explained how to submit online applications using mobile devices and provided detailed instructions on preparing for both the written and practical examinations. Additionally, she discussed how to fill out the logbook, the appropriate badges to wear, and the essential materials required before taking the exam.

The participants later assembled on the ground for various activities, during which the Bharat Scouts and Guides prayer song was sung by the rangers and rovers.

The event was presided over by Dr. M.K. Manjunatha, Principal, while Dr. Praveen Kumar S., Assistant Professor, delivered the welcome address. Mrs. Niroosha M.R., the Ranger Leader, was also present at the programme.

State-Level pioneering and Estimation Training Course for unit leaders

From April 25th to 28th, 2025, the Karnataka State Bharat Scouts and Guides organized a State-Level Pioneering and Estimation Training Course for Unit Leaders at the Dr. Annie Besant Scouts and Guides State Training Camp in Doddaballapura Taluk, Bangalore District. The event was inaugurated by the State Chief Organizing Commissioner, Mr. P.G.R. Sindhia, along with the District Chief Organizing Commissioner.

Four Rovers and two Rangers from our college enthusiastically participated in this four-day training camp, engaging wholeheartedly in all the activities organized. They stayed in tent accommodations and received comprehensive training in various aspects of Scouting and Guiding, including its history, motto, vision, mission, signs of salute, prayer song, flag song, types of knots, and gadget-making for tent setups. Additionally, they developed essential leadership skills, making the camp a truly enriching and memorable experience.

Special Lecture: Preserving Our Heritage – The Importance of Historical Site Conservation"

The Bharat Scouts and Guides organized a special lecture titled Preserving Our Heritage: the Importance of Historical Site Conservation on March 24, 2025. The program commenced with the Bharat Scouts and Guides' prayer. The event was presided over by the principal,   Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, with Mr. A.M. Jayaram, Secretary of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Channarayapatna, as the chief guest. Dr. Praveen Kumar S, Assistant Professor and Rover Leader, welcomed the gathering, while Mrs. Niroosha M. R., Ranger Leader, was also present at the event.

The resource person, Mr. A.M. Jayaram, spoke about how temples serve as symbols of culture, harmony, and unity. He highlighted significant historical and religious sites in Channarayapatna Taluk, including the Channakeshava Temple, Chandramouleshvara Temple, the village goddess Volageramma, Kolada Anjaneya, the town’s Amani Lake, and the renowned Shravanabelagola Chandragiri Hill. He also discussed the contributions of the Mysore kings in the creation of lakes, shared insights into the history of Channarayapatna, and emphasized the service motto of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Following his talk, a sapling was planted in the garden and watered as part of the event. The principal, Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, then addressed the gathering, highlighting how historical temples represent Indian culture. He also briefly explained the significance of epistles and inscriptions.
