Financial Strategy for Business Growth

The Department of Commerce, Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna, organized a special lecture on “Financial Strategy for Business Growth” on 13 October 2026.

The programme was presided over by Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, Principal of the college. In his presidential address, he highlighted the importance of financial literacy, effective financial planning, and management skills for students to succeed in business and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Sunil Kumar M. N., Assistant Professor, Government First Grade College, Arsikere, was the resource person. He explained the importance of financial planning, budgeting, investment decisions, cost management, and the effective utilization of financial resources for sustainable business growth. He emphasized that sound financial strategies help businesses improve profitability, manage risks, and achieve long-term success.

The programme was coordinated by Mr. Sridhar A. N., Convenor, Department of Commerce. The lecture provided valuable insights into financial management and business development.

Commerce Expo–2026: Prize Distribution Ceremony

The Department of Commerce, Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna, organized the Commerce Expo–2026 Prize Distribution Ceremony on 19th September 2026 during the morning assembly. The programme was organized to recognize and appreciate the creativity, practical knowledge, and active participation of students in the Commerce Expo held on 17th September 2026.

Mr. G. V. Dinesh, Agriculture Officer, Nuggehalli, was the chief guest of the programme and distributed prizes to the winners. Prizes were awarded to three chart presentations and three models as part of the Commerce Expo.

The chief guest appreciated the students' efforts and innovative presentations. The programme encouraged students to develop creativity, practical knowledge, and interest in commerce-related concepts.

The ceremony concluded with appreciation for all participating students and faculty members who contributed to the successful organization of Commerce Expo–2026.

ಚನ್ನರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಶ್ರೀ ಆದಿಚುಂಚನಗಿರಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗವು, 2026ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 19ರಂದು ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಸಭೆಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ 'ಕಾಮರ್ಸ್ ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ಪೋ-2026'ರ ಬಹುಮಾನ ವಿತರಣಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 17, 2026ರಂದು ನಡೆದ 'ಕಾಮರ್ಸ್ ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ಪೋ'ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆ, ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ನುಗ್ಗೆಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಕೃಷಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಿ. ವಿ. ದಿನೇಶ್ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ವಿಜೇತರಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾಮರ್ಸ್ ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ಪೋದ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ಮೂರು ಚಾರ್ಟ್ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮೂರು ಮಾದರಿಗಳಿಗೆ (ಮಾಡಲ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ) ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.

ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನವೀನ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆ, ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡಿತು.

'ಕಾಮರ್ಸ್ ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ಪೋ-2026'ರ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಆಯೋಜನೆಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಬೋಧಕ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾರಂಭವು ಸಂಪನ್ನಗೊಂಡಿತು.

Commerce Expo–2026: Bridging PU Students with Higher Education

 The Department of Commerce, Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, organized Commerce Expo–2026 on 17th September 2026 at the Library and Information Reading Room of the college. The expo was organized with the objective of providing students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, practical knowledge, and understanding of various concepts related to commerce and business, while also introducing PU students to higher education opportunities.

As part of the expo, the students of the Department of Commerce prepared and displayed 51 charts and 12 working and conceptual models covering various commerce- and business-related themes. Students from nearby PU colleges, including Navodaya Junior College, Government Independent PU College, and Government Women’s PU College, visited the exhibition.

During the visit, the faculty members of the Department of Commerce initially explained the purpose and themes of the Commerce Expo to the visiting students. 

On 18th September 2026, students from Navodaya Junior College, Government Independent PU College, and Government Women’s PU College visited the expo. The faculty and SAFGC students explained the exhibits, providing the visitors with valuable insights into Commerce education, practical learning, and higher education opportunities.

The expo provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, peer interaction, practical learning, and academic exposure. It also helped PU students gain an insight into the scope of commerce education and higher education opportunities available after their pre-university studies. The active participation of both SAFGC and visiting PU students made the Commerce Expo–2026 an engaging and meaningful academic initiative.

Commerce Expo – 2026

 The Department of Commerce, Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, organized a Commerce Expo on 17th September 2026 at the Library and Information Reading Room of the college. The expo was organized with the objective of providing students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, practical knowledge, and understanding of various concepts related to commerce and business.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, Principal, who formally inaugurated the expo and appreciated the efforts of the Department of Commerce and the students.

Mr. P. Narasimhamurthy, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, welcomed the Principal, jury members, faculty members, and students to the programme. Mr. Sridhar A.N. addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the Commerce Expo in enhancing students’ practical learning, creativity, presentation skills, and entrepreneurial thinking.

The expo was evaluated by a panel of judges comprising Mr. Ningaraju, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of English; Mrs. Kavitha J.N., Librarian; and Mr. Lokesh, Lecturer and Head, Department of Economics.

Mr. Bhaskar J., Physical Education Director, made the Library and Information Reading Room suitable for the expo by arranging and organizing the space for the display of charts and models.

The expo witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, with 51 chart presentations and 12 models displayed on various commerce-related themes. The exhibits reflected the students’ understanding, innovative ideas, and ability to present academic concepts in an interesting and practical manner.

The expo also attracted visitors from BGS PU College, Channarayapatna, and Sri Adichunchanagiri PU College, Channarayapatna, who visited the exhibition and appreciated the students’ presentations and models.

The Commerce Expo provided a meaningful platform for students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications while developing their communication, teamwork, creativity, and presentation skills. The programme concluded on a positive note, with appreciation for the students and faculty members for their active participation and successful organization of the event.

Campus to Corporate

 The Department of Commerce organized a “Campus to Corporate” programme on 12.09.2026 for all final-year students. The programme aimed to equip students with the essential knowledge, skills, and professional attitude required to successfully transition from the academic environment to the corporate world.

Mr. Madhusudhan N., Associate Director, Centralized Training & Placement Department, Adichunchanagiri University, B.G. Nagara, served as the resource person. He provided valuable insights into corporate expectations, employability skills, workplace etiquette, communication skills, interview preparation, and career readiness. He emphasized the importance of developing both technical and soft skills to meet the changing demands of the corporate sector.

All final-year students benefited from the programme and gained practical guidance on preparing themselves for employment, interviews, and professional careers. The session was informative and interactive and helped students understand the expectations of employers and the skills required to make a successful transition from campus to corporate life.

Special Lecture on Computer Literacy

A Special Lecture on Computer Literacy was organized for the students to enhance their basic knowledge and practical understanding of computers and digital technologies.

The session focused on the importance of computer literacy in academic, personal, and professional life, covering topics such as basic computer operations, MS Office applications, internet usage, email communication, online learning platforms, and digital safety. The lecture provided students with valuable practical insights and encouraged them to develop essential digital skills required for higher education and employment. The session was informative, interactive, and beneficial to the students.

B.Com. Induction Programme – 2026

The Department of Commerce organised a B.Com. Induction Programme on 13 August 2026 to welcome and orient the newly admitted students to the academic environment of the institution.

The programme was presided over by Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, Principal, who addressed the students and highlighted the importance of higher education, discipline, academic excellence and active participation in co-curricular activities.

Mr. Sridhar A. N., Head of the Department of Commerce, delivered the content and provided students with an overview of the B.Com. programme, curriculum, academic expectations and opportunities available in the department.

The programme was hosted by Mr. Nandeesh S.C., who coordinated the proceedings effectively. Mr. Narasimhamurthy P. proposed the vote of thanks and formally concluded the programme.

The induction programme provided a meaningful beginning for the new B.Com. students and helped them understand the academic and institutional environment of the college.
