National Science Day-Science Exhibition

 The Department of Zoology in collaboration with Science Forum successfully organized a Science Exhibition on 28th February 2025 in celebration of National Science Day. The event aimed to promote scientific awareness and encourage students to explore innovative ideas in zoology and related fields. The exhibition featured model presentations and posters prepared by students, highlighting various aspects of animal biology, environmental science, and conservation strategies. A total of 20 models and 15 posters were exhibited, covering topics such as wildlife conservation, biodiversity, Animal Physiology and Pathology and ecosystem restoration.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Manjunath M K, Principal, SAFG College, Dr. Pandareesh. M D Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry Adichunchanagiri School of Natural Sciences who commended the students for their creativity and scientific knowledge. Faculty members and external experts evaluated the models and awarded prizes for the Best Model. The first place for global warming model- Lavanya I B. Sc, second place for Neuron- Harshitha H S, III B Sc and third place for lava lamp-Sharufa Bi II B Sc  The exhibition attracted significant participation from students and faculty members from various departments, fostering a spirit of scientific inquiry and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Science Exhibition was a resounding success, inspiring students to engage more deeply with scientific research and innovation.

Student Participation in Competitions at Vignatham Uthsav 2025

 The SAFG College is proud to report the enthusiastic participation of our students in various competitions at Vignatham Uthsav. This event provided a valuable platform for students to showcase their knowledge, creativity, and research skills in a competitive environment. Our students actively participated in the intercollegiate quiz competition, competing with students from various institutions. Students presented innovative models based on topic - Climate Crisis: Challenges and Solutions for a Sustainable Future. The presentations were well-received, with judges appreciating their creativity and in-depth explanations. Participation in these competitions enhanced students’ knowledge, public speaking skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Interacting with experts and fellow participants provided valuable exposure to current trends and research in zoology and environmental sciences. The event encouraged students to develop a scientific temperament and interest in research-oriented learning.

Cultural Programme at Vignatham Ustav 2025

On 19-02-2024, at 7.30 pm,  6 students of our college graced the cultural stage in the Jnana-Vijnana-Tantrajnana Mela - 2025, organized by our Governing Body at Sri Adichunchanagiri kshetra. They entertained the audience by performing a dance related to the wonderful Bharthanatyam . Smt Arpitha H J, the Cultural Coo- rdinator, took care of the students.
















Science Exhibition – Beyond Imagination to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals

 On 19th February 2025, Dr. B.N. Chandrashekar, Head of the Department, led a group of sixth-semester students, along with additional faculty members from SAFG College, including Dr. Nirupama, Miss. Deepika, and Mr. Bhaskara J., on a field visit to the Science Exhibition held at Adichunchanagiri, Nagamangala, Mandya District. The field visit, titled "Science Exhibition – Beyond Imagination to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals," aimed to showcase the transformative role of science in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The exhibition featured various themes focused on sustainable development, scientific innovation, and the advancement of technology to solve global challenges. The students and faculty had the opportunity to explore several key themes presented during the event, including:

1.   Renewable Energy Solutions – Focused on harnessing solar, wind, and other renewable energy sources to reduce dependency on fossil fuels.

2.   Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability – Showcased scientific projects aimed at mitigating climate change and promoting environmental conservation.

3.   Clean Water and Sanitation – Highlighted innovations aimed at improving water purification and sanitation technologies.

4.   Sustainable Agriculture – Demonstrated technologies that promote sustainable farming practices, reduce food wastage, and ensure food security.

5.   Health and Wellbeing – Presented advancements in healthcare technologies designed to improve global health outcomes, especially in underserved regions.

6.   Smart Cities and Innovation – Focused on the role of technology in creating smart cities that promote efficient resource use and improve the quality of life.

The primary objectives of the exhibition were to:

  • Educate students and the public about the significance of scientific advancements in achieving SDGs.
  • Encourage innovation and creativity in solving global challenges through science and technology.
  • Provide a platform for students to engage with real-world applications of their academic learning.
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration between scientific communities, researchers, and the public to work towards common goals for a sustainable future.

The visit provided an enriching experience for all participants, allowing them to witness firsthand the ongoing efforts towards sustainable development through science. It also inspired the students to think beyond traditional academic learning and consider the broader impacts of their future contributions to society.

The exhibition concluded at 2:30 PM, leaving the participants with valuable insights and a renewed sense of commitment towards achieving the global Sustainable Development.






A field visit to the Vignatham Ustav 2025

On Feb 19th , 2025,  A field visit to the Vignatham Ustav 2025 from the Department of Physics, sounds like a great opportunity! around  45 Students  actively participated in this Vignatham Ustav is likely a scientific or educational festival or event, possibly centered around physics, technology, or innovation. It could involve exhibits, workshops, lectures, and hands-on experiences related to various fields of physics and scientific advancements.  

Our Students understanding and learned the Applications of Physics: Look for sessions or discussions on how physics principles are applied in various industries—whether it's space exploration, medical technologies, or sustainable energy solutions. If this Vignatham ustav 2025 has a community outreach aspect, there may be activities focused on making physics accessible to students or the general public. This can be a chance to inspire and mentor younger generations or curious minds.














Education Trip to Vignatham Ustav 2025

 The Zoology Department organized an educational trip to Vignatham Uthsav 2025 at Adichunchanagiri Mutt. The purpose of this visit was to participate in and observe the Model Exhibition, which showcased innovative projects and scientific advancements in various fields. The event provided students with valuable exposure to creative and scientific ideas, fostering learning beyond classroom education. The visit to Adichunchanagiri Mutt also allowed students to witness the harmonious blend of spirituality and environmental conservation, as the mutt is actively involved in green initiatives and biodiversity conservation programs. The serene environment and the rich heritage of the place added to the learning experience. The trip was highly beneficial for students, reinforcing theoretical knowledge with practical exposure. It also encouraged them to actively participate in conservation efforts and inspired new research ideas.

World Cancer Day-2025

 The aim of this programme was to spreading awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. Dr. Dharanesh, resource person who discussed various types of cancers, risk factors, symptoms, and the significance of early diagnosis. They also highlighted recent advancements in cancer research and treatment options. The programme concluded with to promote healthy lifestyles, regular medical check-ups, and support for cancer patients and survivors. The event successfully achieved its goal of raising awareness, encouraging proactive health measures, and fostering a sense of social responsibility among participants. Overall, it was a highly informative and impactful event, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
