World Cancer Day : Close the Care Gap

On Friday, February 3, 2023, the SAFG College, Channarayapatnam Youth Red Cross Unit was observe World Cancer Day to raise awareness among students. The causes, prevention tactics, and treatments of cancer were discussed with the students. The causes of cancer are outlined by Dr. Chidanand, Physician, of Channarayapatna Government Hospital as follows: smoking, infectious physical injuries, genes, alcohol, chewing tobacco, unhealthy lifestyle, junk food, obesity, and lack of exercise. He advised girls to get the HPV vaccine and mentioned that the best way to prevent cervical cancer is through routine cervical screening. He also explained the treatment of biomarker testing, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, hyperthermia, immunotherapy, photodynamic therapy, radiation therapy, stem cell transplantation, surgery, and targeted therapies. The program's host, Dr. Nirupama M., extends a warm welcome to the guest. Mr. Siddaraj, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, introduced Resource Person Dr. Chidanand to the students and faculty. The principal, Dr. M.K. Manjunath, oversaw the event and spoke. A formal vote of thanks was given by Sridhar, A.N., Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. Mrs. Kavitha J.N. the Librarian narrated the program and the students offered prayers. The programme concludes with everyone reciting the World Cancer Day theme: "Close the Care Gap 2022-2024."

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ಚನ್ನರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಣದ SAFG ಕಾಲೇಜ್‌ನ ಯುವ ರೆಡ್‌ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಘಟಕವು ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ, ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 3, 2023 ರಂದು ವಿಶ್ವ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಕಾರಣಗಳು, ಅದನ್ನು ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟುವ ವಿಧಾನಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಚನ್ನರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಣ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ತಜ್ಞ ವೈದ್ಯ ಡಾ.ಚಿದಾನಂದ್ ಅವರು ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್‌ಗೆ ಕಾರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಧೂಮಪಾನ, ಸೋಂಕಿತ ದೈಹಿಕ ಗಾಯಗಳು, ಜೀನ್‌ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮದ್ಯದ ಮೂಲಕ, ತಂಬಾಕು ಜಗಿಯುವುದು, ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ಜೀವನಶೈಲಿ, ಜಂಕ್ ಫುಡ್, ಬೊಜ್ಜು ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯಾಯಾಮ ಮಾಡದಿರುವುದು. ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು ಎಚ್‌ಪಿವಿ ಲಸಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಗರ್ಭಕಂಠದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟಲು ನಿಯಮಿತ ಗರ್ಭಕಂಠದ ತಪಾಸಣೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಬಯೋಮಾರ್ಕರ್ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ, ಕೀಮೋಥೆರಪಿ, ಹಾರ್ಮೋನ್ ಥೆರಪಿ, ಹೈಪರ್ಥರ್ಮಿಯಾ ಮತ್ತು ಇಮ್ಯುನೊಥೆರಪಿ, ಫೋಟೊಡೈನಾಮಿಕ್ ಥೆರಪಿ, ರೇಡಿಯೇಷನ್ ಥೆರಪಿ, ಸ್ಟೆಮ್ ಸೆಲ್, ಕಸಿ, ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ, ಉದ್ದೇಶಿತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಯುವ ರೆಡ್‌ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಘಟಕದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕಿ ಡಾ.ನಿರುಪಮಾ ಎಂ. ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ರಾಜ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಜು, ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಡಾ.ಚಿದಾನಂದ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಡಾ.ಎಂ.ಕೆ. ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀಧರ್, ಎ.ಎನ್. , ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಔಪಚಾರಿಕವಾಗಿ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕವಿತ ಜೆ.ಎನ್. ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ವಿಶ್ವ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ದಿನದ ಥೀಮ್ ಅನ್ನು ಪಠಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ: "ಕ್ಲೋಸ್ ದಿ ಕೇರ್ ಗ್ಯಾಪ್ 2022-2024."
