On April 24, 2023, the Library and Information Centre, in collaboration with the Department of Kannada and IQAC, observed World Book Day. A Author talk was organized as part of World Book Day. Tarun Gowda, II BA student, opened the programme with the invocation of Shardha Song. After the formal welcome speech given by Sridhar A.N., Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, offered floral tributes to the portrait of Padmabhushan Dr. Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji and wateried the plants as the program's inaugural event by the Resource Person and the Principle, as well as offered by the other faculty members. Dr. Nirupama M., Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, delivered the keynote address.
Resource persons Shri Honnashettihalli Giriraj is the most well-known authors of Channarayapatna Taluk. He discussed the value of reading in life, he impressed upon the students the importance of books. He thoroughly explained to the students the concepts found in storybook, the contents of poetry anthologies, and the advantages of making reading fiction, drama. He instructed the students to form the reading habit also takes us towards our goal, so develop the habit of reading.
Later, Dr. M.K. Manjunath, Principal, SAFG College delivered the presidential talk.
