Bharat Scouts and Guides Orientation Programme – 2026–27

 The Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College (SAFGC) organized an Orientation Programme for the academic year 2026–27 on 20 August 2026 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. The programme was organized to introduce students to the objectives, activities, values, and opportunities offered through the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement.

The programme was presided over by Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, Principal, SAFGC. Dr. Suresh Guruji, District Secretary, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Hassan, and Ms. Priyanka, District Organising Commissioner, Hassan, were the chief guests and resource persons for the programme.

Dr. Suresh Guruji, District Secretary, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Hassan, addressed the students and explained the importance of the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement in developing discipline, leadership, self-confidence, teamwork and a spirit of service among young people. He highlighted the various activities and opportunities available through the Scouts and Guides, including camps, community service, social awareness programmes, environmental activities, first-aid training and other skill-based activities.

He encouraged the students to actively participate in Rover and Ranger activities and make use of these opportunities for their overall personality development. He emphasized that Scouts and Guides not only provide practical skills but also help students become responsible, disciplined and socially committed citizens. He motivated the students to develop a spirit of service, cooperation and responsibility towards society and the nation.

Dr. Praveen Kumar S., Rover Leader, and Mrs. Niroosha M. R., Ranger Leader, coordinated the programme and guided the students regarding the various activities and responsibilities of Rovers and Rangers.

The programme provided students with an opportunity to understand the importance of discipline, leadership, teamwork, service, responsibility, and community engagement. The resource persons encouraged students to actively participate in Scouts and Guides activities and make use of the opportunities available for their overall personality development.

The programme concluded with a note of thanks to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their active participation and support.

Nasha Mukt Bharat & Kushal Bharat Abhiyan Pledge Program

A pledge program on “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” and “Kushal Bharat Abhiyan” was successfully conducted on 25-04-2026 at 11:30 AM under the joint initiative of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and the Youth Red Cross Unit on our college premises.

The program aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of skill development for building a strong and self-reliant nation. The event was organised in the presence of respected college faculties, who actively supported and encouraged the initiative. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com streams, with a total of 150 students taking part in the pledge programme. The session began with an introduction to the objectives of both campaigns, emphasising the need for a drug-free society and the role of youth in nation-building through skill enhancement.

Faculty members addressed the students, highlighting the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of discipline, education, and skill development. They motivated students to adopt healthy lifestyles and become responsible citizens.

Following the awareness session, all participants solemnly took a pledge to stay away from drugs and contribute towards the vision of a drug-free India. They also pledged to actively engage in skill development initiatives to support the mission of Kushal Bharat.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing units and the valuable presence of faculty members. The event was impactful and successfully instilled awareness, responsibility, and commitment among the students.

Special Lecture and Campus Cleaning Activity Empowerment of Rovers and Rangers through Volunteerism and Community Participation

The Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna, organized a Special Lecture and Campus Cleaning Activity titled “Empowerment of Rovers and Rangers through Volunteerism and Community Participation on March 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM in the Seminar Hall.

The program began with the Bharat Scouts and Guides prayer. The event was presided over by the Principal, Dr. M. K. Manjunatha. Mr. A. M. Jayaram, Secretary of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Channarayapatna, attended the program as the Chief Guest and Resource Person. Dr. Praveen Kumar S, Assistant Professor and Rover Leader, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of volunteerism, social responsibility, and community participation among the youth. Ms. Anusha, Ranger, efficiently anchored the program.

The resource person, Mr. A. M. Jayaram, delivered an insightful lecture on the motto and principles of the Bharat Scouts and Guides. He emphasized the importance of volunteerism, discipline, and service to society. He also spoke about the growing issue of excessive mobile phone usage among students and explained how it can negatively affect their academic performance and personal development. He encouraged the Rovers and Rangers to actively participate in social service and guide society in a positive direction. He advised them to counsel and support people who are struggling with harmful habits such as alcohol addiction, drug abuse, smoking, and drinking, and motivate them to come out of these habits. He stressed that service to society is the core motto of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Following the lecture, the Principal, Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of organizations such as Bharat Scouts and Guides, NCC, and NSS in developing leadership qualities, discipline, and a spirit of service among students. He encouraged students to actively participate in such activities for the betterment of society.

After the lecture session, the Rovers and Rangers actively participated in a Campus Cleaning Activity as a part of their service initiative. The volunteers cleaned the college campus and surrounding areas, demonstrating their commitment to cleanliness, social responsibility, and community service. The program concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from the Rovers and Rangers. Finally, all the Rovers and Rangers had lunch together on the college campus, marking the successful completion of the day’s activities.

Rovers and Rangers Rajya Puraskar Exam Camp

The The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Karnataka State, organized the Rajya puraskar Examination to confer the prestigious Rajya puraskar Award upon eligible Rangers and Rovers who successfully complete the prescribed practical and theoretical assessments. As per the directions of the The Bharat Scouts and Guides Hassan District, a total of five Rangers and two Rovers from our college actively participated in the Rajya puraskar Examination conducted at Kondajji National Park, Davanagere, from 10-02-2026 to 12-02-2026.

During the three-day camp, the participants underwent rigorous practical tests designed to assess their proficiency in scouting skills, including camping, pioneering, first aid, community service, discipline, leadership qualities, and knowledge of scouting principles. The examination aimed to evaluate their commitment to the ideals and motto of the Scouts and Guides movement.



We are proud to state that all seven participants successfully cleared the practical examination with commendable performance. They are presently awaiting the official declaration of results and the conferment of the Rajya puraskar Award. Their participation and achievement reflect the dedication, discipline, and training imparted by our institution and upholds the spirit of service and leadership promoted by the Bharat Scouts and Guides movement.
