The Department of History celebrated Buddha Poornima on 5th May 2023 at the seminar Hall. A special Guest Lecture was organised on the philosophy of Budhha and its relevance.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the Resource Person Sri H N Lakshminarayanamurthy former Associate Professor, Sri Adichunchanagiri College of Education. Tarun II year BA student sang the invocation song. The resource person spoke about the life of Buddha, his four noble truths, and his Eight fold Path. He said that spirituality is the soul of India. He also said that it is the responsibility ofstudents to take forward the teachings of Buddha to the next generation.
The Principal Dr M K Manjunath spoke on the Buddhist philosophy and also recited a poem on Buddha written by famous Kannada Poet Da. Ra Bendre on Buddha. The programme came to an end with a formal vote of Thanks by Physical Education Director Bhaskara J .
Smt Arpitha H J, HOD of Physics, Smt Parvathamma K B, HOD of Geography, Dr Nirupama M HOD of Zoology were present in the event.
