77th Independence Day

Department of Physical Education and sports, SAFG College, Channarayapatna organized 77th Independence Day was celebrated on Tuesday August 15th every year to commemorate India’s freedom from the British rule in 1947. Our college NCC students escorted Chief Guest Keshav Murthy, Ex-Subedar, Dr. Manjunatha M.K., Principal, SAFGC, Lakshmikanth Principal, SAC B.Ed. College, Sri Nagaraju, Principal, Pre University SA College, Sri C.B. Shankar, Principal, SACITI, Sri Kumar CC, Principal, BGS Public School. To celebrate the 77th Independence Day the flag hoisting ceremony was held on at 8 AM at Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Vedike of SAFGC. 

Mr. Bhaskara. J, Physical Education Director, anchored the event. The chief guest explained how the soldiers live on the border, who gave 27 years of long service to India. During the Kargil War, he recalled carrying ammunition to the army and he participated in the International Army Games held in Russia and 4th in the Tank Biathlon. He advised the students to love the country and live for the country. Dr. Manjunath MK, Principal of SAFGC, addressed the Independence Day function.

Teaching and Non-Teaching students were also present.

Our college's NCC students took first place in the taluk administration-organized Independence Day parade.

National Librarians' Day Celebration

Library and Information Center celebrated National Librarians Day on 12th August 2023 at Library and Information Center at 12.30 PM. The students heard from Mrs. Kavitha J.N., Librarian about the significance of Librarian's Day as well as about Dr. S.R. Ranganathan's biography, contributions to Indian Library Science, and recognition as the Father of Library Science in India. Every year, Dr. S.R. Ranganathan's birthday is celebrated in India as National Librarians Day, at which time she presented the five laws of library science to the faculty members and students  present on the occasion.

Principal Dr. Manjunath MK addressed the students and advised them to use the library resources adequately and if all the students have mobile phones, they should register N-list (e-resources) and use it.
