The Department of History in association with IQAC had organised the celebration of Birth Anniversary of Moderate Leader, British economic critic, the Grand Old Man of India Dadabhai Naoroji on 04/09/2023 at the seminar hall. The programme was attended by students of all discipline and faculties.
The programme commenced with welcome address by Physical Education Director Bhaskara J. It was followed by a talk on the topic “Life and contributions of Dadabhai Naoroji” by Ms. Sanjana C P, HOD of History. She spoke on how Naoroji exposed the Drain of Wealth from Ganges to Thames through his famous work “Poverty and UnBritish Rule in India and she also spoke on his role as a prominent Moderate leader in the early years of Indian freedom struggle.
The Presidential address was by the Principal who spoke on the efforts of Dadabhai Naoroji in the establishment of East India Association and his role in enlightening the masses about the economic exploitation of the British. He also said that the students should not forget his role in Indian National Movement as the forerunner of Mahatma Gandhi. The programme was concluded by a formal vote of thanks by Kishora, Assistant Professor, Department of History.
