Minor Physiological Experiments in Botanical Garden at SAFGC, CRP

 From the Department of Botany we conducted a field visit to campus and Botanical Garden on 16-05-2024. According to 6th semester curriculum we visited garden to see the medicinal plants, wild plants. We started moving from our department at 12:30pm along with 12 students headed by Sowmya C V.

Before entering into the Garden, we have observed many wild plants, some taxonomy family related plants in our campus. We went inside the Garden observed medicinal plants like Lemon grass, Coleus, Amruthballi, Tulasi, Aloe, Brahmi and others. In garden, students also conducting the minor physiological experiments like to demonstrate root pressure and to compare the rate of transpiration from dorsiventral leaf by cobalt chloride paper method and also observed many ornamental plants like Rose, Croton, Cycas, Snake plant etc. We spent some time in garden it is consisting of many mesophytes and some are xerophytic plants.

After conducting the physiology minor experiment we get the accurate result of the experiment. And we can also observing plants we get relaxed for half an hour in discussing the plants belongs to which family and understanding most of them are economically important.
