On August 19, 2024, Department of Zoology organized to visit the Amazing Insect Exhibition, a captivating display of nature’s most intriguing creatures. The exhibition, held at Redcross Bhavan Hassan which was organized by District Red cross Unit in collaboration with Agriculture University Karekere, showcased a diverse range of insects from around the world, offering an insightful look into their fascinating lives and the vital roles they play in our ecosystem. Together with the I and III CBZ students, Dr. Nirupama M., HoD of Zoology, and Mrs. Kavitha J. N., Librarian, depart the college campus around 10.30 am, arriving at Red Cross Bhavan at 11.30 am.
The exhibition featured an impressive collection of insects, including beetles, butterflies, ants, and exotic species like giant stick insects and praying mantises. Each species was showcased in beautifully designed terrariums that mimicked their natural habitats, providing a realistic view of their behavior and interaction with their environment. The exhibition was highly informative, with detailed descriptions and fascinating facts about each insect species. Information panels highlighted the importance of insects in pollination, decomposition, and as a food source for other animals. The Amazing Insect Exhibition was not only educational but also visually stunning. The combination of interactive elements, live displays, and well-curated exhibits made it a memorable experience for our students. The exhibition successfully conveyed the beauty and importance of insects, leaving visitors with a greater appreciation for these often-overlooked creatures. We left at 1:30 pm after visiting every section, arriving at the campus at 2:30 pm with a tonne of knowledge and memories.
