On November 20, 2024, Dr. Praveen Kumar S, along with second-year B.A. Sociology students, visited Pura Sabha in Channarayapatna as part of their syllabus under the NEP UG University of Mysore. The syllabus covers topics such as urban planning, urban policy, urban development programs, urbanization, and environmental concerns. During the visit, the students were guided by Mr. Hemantha K.S., the Chief Officer, and Sharadamma, the Planning Officer. They provided insights into the urban plans of Channarayapatna, the area's development, sources of income, tax collection, and the utilization of funds for services such as roads, electricity, water supply, and garbage disposal. The visit allowed the students to gain a deeper understanding of urbanization and the policies in place in Channarayapatna.
