The Bharat Scouts and Guides organized a special lecture titled Preserving Our Heritage: the Importance of Historical Site Conservation on March 24, 2025. The program commenced with the Bharat Scouts and Guides' prayer. The event was presided over by the principal, Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, with Mr. A.M. Jayaram, Secretary of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Channarayapatna, as the chief guest. Dr. Praveen Kumar S, Assistant Professor and Rover Leader, welcomed the gathering, while Mrs. Niroosha M. R., Ranger Leader, was also present at the event.
The resource
person, Mr. A.M. Jayaram, spoke about how temples serve as symbols of culture,
harmony, and unity. He highlighted significant historical and religious sites
in Channarayapatna Taluk, including the Channakeshava Temple,
Chandramouleshvara Temple, the village goddess Volageramma, Kolada Anjaneya,
the town’s Amani Lake, and the renowned Shravanabelagola Chandragiri Hill. He
also discussed the contributions of the Mysore kings in the creation of lakes,
shared insights into the history of Channarayapatna, and emphasized the service
motto of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.
