The Department of Physics organised a Debate Competition on the theme “Science vs. Superstition” on 26th September 2025 in the Seminar Hall. The objective of the programme was to encourage critical thinking among students and to provide a platform to express their views on scientific reasoning and traditional beliefs.
A total of five teams, each consisting of four students, actively participated in the competition. The participants presented well-researched arguments both in favour of and against the topic, making the session engaging and thought-provoking.
The competition was evaluated by a distinguished panel of jury members: Dr. Chandrashekar, Mr. Sridhar A. N., and Mr. Ningaraju, who assessed the teams on content, clarity, presentation, and rebuttal skills.
The event was convened by Ms. Arpitha H. J., who coordinated the programme effectively. The debate concluded with valuable feedback from the jury, highlighting the importance of rational thinking while respecting cultural practices.
Overall, the event was a great success and enriched the knowledge and confidence of the students.
