The Department of Zoology organized a Special Lecture Programme on “Wings Across Ecosystems: The Story of Avian Diversity” on 24th September 2025.
The Resource Person, Dr. Prasanna K. S., Principal, Government Science College, Hassan, delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the uniqueness of avian diversity. He explained the scientific reasons behind the ability of birds to fly while humans cannot, and discussed what humans lose in comparison to this natural adaptation.
In his presidential address, Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, Principal, elaborated on the fascinating phenomenon of bird migration. He spoke about how birds travel continuously across regions and geographical boundaries, adapting to diverse ecosystems.
The programme was organized by Dr. Nirupama M., Department of Zoology.
