Visit to Channarayapatna Public Library – National Library Week 2025

As part of the National Library Week 2025, the Library and Information Centre organized an educational visit to the Public Library, Channarayapatna, on 14th November 2025. Students were taken to the public library to understand the difference between a public library and an academic library, and to gain exposure to various library services available to the community.

Mr. Puttana, President of the Public Library, addressed the students and highlighted the importance of books in student life. He emphasized how reading can help shape knowledge, values, and personal growth.

Mr. Devaraju, Librarian of the Public Library, provided detailed information about the membership procedures, services offered, and the facilities available for the public.

Mrs. Kavitha J.N., Librarian and organiser of the visit, explained the vital role libraries play in enhancing students’ learning, knowledge, and employability skills.

The visit helped students understand the purpose, scope, and functioning of different types of libraries, making it a valuable learning experience.
