Girl Child Protection and Safety Education Programme

The Women Empowerment Cell, in coordination with the Women Sexual Harassment Prevention Cell, organized a Girl Child Protection and Safety Education Programme on 23.02.2026 at the Government Higher Primary School, Belasinda.

The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among school children about child safety, protection, and the importance of speaking up against abuse under the POCSO Act. As part of the programme, eight students from our college presented a meaningful and thought-provoking skit highlighting the issue of girl child abuse and the need for awareness and courage to report unsafe situations. The performance effectively conveyed the message of distinguishing between safe and unsafe touch.

The Headmaster of the school appreciated the efforts of our students and commended their impactful presentation. Dr. Nirupama M., Convenor of the Women Empowerment Cell, and Mrs. Kavitha J.N. Convenor of the Women Sexual Harassment Prevention Cell. Mr. Bhaskara J. extended his support in organizing and coordinating the skit performance. Mrs. Ramya, a teacher at the school, also supported and assisted in conducting the programme smoothly.

The primary school students eagerly watched the skit and actively participated in the interaction session by sharing their feedback and clarifying their doubts. The programme was successful in spreading awareness and reinforcing the importance of child protection and safety among young students.
