The Teachers’ Day Celebration was organized with great enthusiasm and respect at Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna, to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great philosopher, teacher and former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
The programme began with a warm and respectful welcome to all the teachers, who were escorted to the stage by the NCC students. The celebration commenced with an invocation song melodiously rendered by Sahana, a B.Com. student. This was followed by a formal welcome address delivered by Vaishnavi, a B.Sc. student. The programme was formally inaugurated by watering the plant, symbolizing knowledge, growth and the nurturing role of teachers in shaping the lives of students. Two students, along with Mr. Bhasker, B.A. student, delivered excellent speeches highlighting the life, philosophy and invaluable contributions of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan to education and society. Their speeches emphasized the importance of teachers and the significant role they play in guiding and inspiring students.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. M. K. Manjunath, Principal, who spoke about the importance of teachers in building responsible citizens and encouraged students to respect and value their teachers.
The programme
continued with vibrant cultural events presented by the students, including
colourful dance performances and melodious songs. The performances created a
joyful and entertaining atmosphere and reflected the students' love and
gratitude towards their teachers.
As a special part of
the celebration, games were organized for the teachers. The teachers
enthusiastically participated in Musical Chairs and Passing the Ball. In the
Musical Chairs competition, Brundha secured the First Place, while Sowmya C. V.
secured the Second Place. In the Passing the Ball competition, Radhamma K M won
the First Place, and Sweetha secured the Second Place.
The Vote of Thanks
was proposed by Lavanya G. M., who expressed sincere gratitude to the principal,
teachers, students, organizers and everyone who contributed to the successful
conduct of the programme. The programme was efficiently and enthusiastically
anchored by Nagaveni, B.Com. student, Lavanya, G M, and Nisha B Com student, who
ensured the smooth flow of all the events.
As a meaningful
concluding activity, a plant was planted in the college garden in memory of Dr.
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. This symbolic gesture represented the values of
growth, knowledge and the lasting contribution of teachers to society. The
Teachers’ Day celebration concluded on a joyful and memorable note, with
students expressing their heartfelt respect, gratitude and appreciation towards
their beloved teachers.
