The Department of Botany of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna, organised an educational field visit to Dhanvantari Vana, near Becca, on 30th October 2026 for the students. A total of 14 students participated in the visit under the guidance of Mrs. Sowmya C.V., Convenor.
The visit was organised with the objective of providing students with practical knowledge of natural farming practices and introducing them to various medicinal and other plant species. Students observed different plants belonging to various botanical families and studied their morphological characteristics, identification features and classification.
The visit provided an opportunity for students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical field observations. It also enhanced their understanding of plant taxonomy, biodiversity, medicinal plants and the importance of sustainable agricultural practices.
The field visit was informative and enriched the students' practical learning experience.
