The Department of Political Science of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna, participated in the Taluk-Level Youth Parliament Programme held on 08.10.2026 at Bahubali College of Engineering, Shravanabelagola. The programme was organised by the Taluk Administration and Taluk Social Welfare Department, Channarayapatna, to promote democratic awareness and develop leadership, debating, and public-speaking skills among students.
The programme provided students with an opportunity to experience parliamentary proceedings, including the roles and responsibilities of the Speaker, Chief Minister, and other members of the legislature. Through the sessions, students gained practical knowledge of parliamentary discussions, question-and-answer sessions, presentation of opinions, and the importance of discipline and democratic values in the legislative process.
A total of 15 students from the college participated in the programme. Mr. Bhaskara G.R., a first-year HEP student, secured first prize, bringing recognition to the institution. The participation helped students improve their confidence, communication skills, and understanding of democratic governance.
Dr. N.T. Nagaraja, Head of the Department of Political Science, and Mr. Siddaraju, Lecturer in Political Science, coordinated the students’ participation in the programme.
