Celebration of Universal Brotherhood Day

The Department of History organized the Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September 2025. The event was presided over by Dr. M.K. Manjunatha, Principal, who delivered the presidential address highlighting the relevance of the day.

On this occasion, the resource person, Mr. Shivappa R.K., spoke on the importance of Universal Brotherhood Day and recalled Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago on 11th September 1893, where he proclaimed the message of universal brotherhood and religious harmony to the world. His speech continues to inspire generations in fostering peace, tolerance, and unity.

The programme was convened by Mr. Shekhimran, anchored by Mr. Lokesh G.S., and concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. N.T. Nagaraja.

Special Lecture Programme on Current Tax Reforms

 The Department of Economics, in collaboration with the IQAC, organized a Special Lecture Programme on “Current Tax Reforms” on 10th September 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The resource person for the session was Prof. Chandregowda N., Retired Professor, Maharaja’s College, Mysore, who shared his valuable insights on the subject.

On this occasion, students who excelled in Economics by scoring 100 marks were honored. The awardees were Mohan H.D., Sandhya K.M., Kavana C.R., Ganavi, Shivakumar, and Bhavyashree. They were felicitated by Lokesh G. S., Head of the Department of Economics.

Teachers’ Day Celebration 2025

The students of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna organized Teachers’ Day on Thursday, 9th September 2025 with great enthusiasm and respect.

As part of the celebration, fun games such as Musical Chairs and Balloon Blast were conducted for the faculty members, which created an atmosphere of joy and togetherness. To express their gratitude and appreciation, the students presented meaningful gifts to the teachers, including a Ganapathi idol and a personalized nameplate.

The program highlighted the students’ affection, respect, and gratitude towards their teachers, making the occasion memorable and joyful for everyone.

Great three Women Warriors of Bharatha Varsha: Rani Abbakka, Kittur Rani Chennamma, Devi Ahalyabai Holkar

The Department of History organized a special program on “Three Great Women Warriors of Bharatha Varsha: Rani Abbakka, Kittur Rani Chennamma, and Devi Ahalyabai Holkar” on 9th September 2025. The resource person for the session was Mr. Nagaraja K., Principal, SAC PU College, Channarayapatna, who enlightened the gathering with his insights on the valor, leadership, and contributions of these eminent women in shaping Indian history.











Bapuji Essay Writing Competition

 The NSS Unit organized the Bapuji Essay Writing Competition on 8th September 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Seminar Hall. A total of 53 students actively participated in the event.

National Read A Book Day

The Library and Information Centre in collaboration with IQAC organized National Read A Book Day – Book Talk: Express Your Favorite Read on 6th September 2025 at 12.00 PM in the Seminar Hall.

The programme began with a prayer by Mrs. Ganavi, III B.Sc. student. Mrs. Kavitha J.N., Librarian, delivered the welcome speech, highlighting the importance of reading and explaining why books are essential for knowledge, creativity, and personal growth.

Several faculty members and students actively participated in sharing their thoughts and book reflections:

  • Mrs. Kalavathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada, spoke on the values and life lessons expressed in Sri Ramayana Dharshanam.

  • Mr. Lokesh, GS Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, shared insights from the book Kanoonu Hegadathi.

  • Ms. Bhoomika, I Year HSG student, narrated the story of the birth of the Pandavas from the Mahabharata.

  • Ms. Chandanashri, III B.Sc. student, reviewed Chetan Bhagat’s The Three Mistakes of My Life.

  • Mr. Manjunath, III B.Sc. student, presented several small inspiring stories.

  • Mr. Mohan, III B.A. student, spoke about the story Karana Heli Hogu.

  • Mr. Harsha, II Year student, also participated enthusiastically by expressing his views.

The resource person, Mr. R.K. Shivappa, Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada, motivated students to develop the habit of daily reading. He explained how Sri Ramayana Darshanam by Kuvempu earned the Jnanpith Award and stressed that every student should maintain a personal library at home.

Dr. M.K. Manjunatha, Principal, in his address, emphasized that every student should make it a habit to read at least one page a day, as reading strengthens the mind and builds intellectual discipline.

The programme concluded with the Presidential Remarks by Dr. M.K. Manjunatha, Principal, followed by the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Nirupama M., HoD of Zoology.

The event was a grand success, inspiring students and staff to cultivate the lifelong habit of reading.
