Aptitude Training for Competitive Exam

 Initially the program  was started with invocation by Bhavana. Later welcome speech was done by Mr. Sridhar A N Head Department of Commerce & Co-Ordinator CG&PC. Dr M K Manjunath , Principal of SAFG College, In his speech talked about Benefits  and  opportunities  available in competitive world. Prof. Narasimhamurthy P, Assistant Professor Department of Commerce of  has introduced the Resource person Sri. Chetan Kumar P, MCA   a professional  highly experienced trainer in the field of aptitude The secession was started by resource person he thought about aptitude, reasoning, numerical ability and he conducted mathematical activity with students  and he spoke about various competitive exams in State Government, Central Government and IBPS exams and how to prepare and how to make notes and he continued with motivational speech and various successful people in government exams and he clarified doubts to students and concluded the secession    and Mr. Narasimhamurthy P    delivered vote of thanks, and Anchoring was done by Prof. Sridhar A N Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, in this program all HOD’s are presented.










AIDS Awareness through Puppet Game

 On August 29, 2024, the Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Unit, SAFG College in collabration with Sri Rajaram Togalugombe Kalaa Sanga organized a unique AIDS awareness program using a puppet game as the central medium in Kuvempu Vedike at 2 pm. This event aimed to educate the community about HIV/AIDS, addressing myths, promoting prevention, and encouraging empathy towards those affected by the disease. In this programme, Sri. Shivappa, Assistant Professor in Kannada welcomed and narrated the programme. Sri Kenchegowda, ICTC consultant, Govt. Hospital, Chnnarayapatna and Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, Principal, SAFG College, Dr Nirupama M, Convenor, Youth Red Cross Unit were present on the stage.

The primary objectives of the puppet play are: to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, its spread, prevention and treatment, to dispel common myths and misconceptions about the disease, to support and dispel discriminatory attitudes towards persons living with HIV/AIDS. They create awareness about the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene and its impact on overall health and the role of hygiene in preventing the spread of infectious diseases. In addition to this, she showed the importance of good health, education for girls etc. in her puppet show. Puppet play was a successful tool in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. It provided a creative and engaging way to communicate essential information, helping to break down barriers of misunderstanding and stigma associated with the disease. More than 900 students benefited from this.

Library Induction Programme for First-Year Students

A library induction for first-year degree students is an important event designed to familiarise them with the resources and services available in the library. Throughout the whole month of August 2024, the Library and Information Centre offered first-year students a library orientation program.

The students were to be brought to the library by the faculty members of their different departments. Students are welcomed first when they enter the Library and Information Centre.

Details about the resources available at the library were given. They were given directions on how to check out from the library the books they needed. The news and magazines that would be arriving at the library were shared with the students. There was also discussion of the benefits of reading them.

Reference books were introduced to the students, and reading competitive books was encouraged. After that, students were assured that fiction novels existed and that reading them would provide them with solid knowledge.

It is recommended that students utilise the computers in the Browsing Centre, which are reserved for their use.

Instructed to become a member of the library and information centre. Strictly informed to follow library rules and regulations.

In the orientation program held on 26-08-2024, all students were called upon to read at least 20 books from the library every year.
