Hands-on Training in Insect Identification at SAFGC Botanical Garden

The Department of Zoology organized a Hands-on Training in Insect Identification on 29th September 2025 for the first-year students at the SAFGC Botanical Garden.

The session was guided by Dr. Nirupama M. and Mrs. Radhamma K. M., who explained the key features of insects and helped the students identify various insect orders through field observation. The resource persons highlighted important morphological characteristics such as body segmentation, wing structure, antennae type, and leg adaptations, enabling students to distinguish between different insect groups.

This hands-on exposure provided the students with practical knowledge of basic taxonomy, insect diversity, and ecological significance, enhancing their field-based learning experience.
