The Library and Information Center organised a Court Session Observation-Awareness Program on March 13, 2026, at 11:30 AM to raise awareness among students about the functioning of the judicial system and court procedures.
We selected a total of 22
students from B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com. to participate in the programme. The
visit was arranged at the court in Channarayapatna, where students were
provided an opportunity to observe the live court proceedings and understand
the practical aspects of the legal system.
For effective observation and
guidance, the students were divided into three groups and sent to three
different courts. The groups were accompanied by faculty members Mrs. Kavitha
J.N., Dr. Nirupama M., and Mrs. Arpitha H.J, who supervised and guided the
students throughout the visit.
The students observed the court
proceedings, including the roles of the judge, advocates, and court staff, and
gained valuable knowledge about how cases are presented and handled in court. The
programme helped students develop a deeper understanding of the judicial
process and legal awareness.
Later, Mr. Jayaram, a newspaper
reporter, interacted with the students and conducted a short interview
regarding their experience of observing the court proceedings. The students
shared their views and expressed that the visit was very informative and helped
them understand the functioning of the court in a better way.
ಶ್ರೀ ಆದಿಚುಂಚನಗಿರಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜು, ಚನ್ನರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ 13 ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2026 ರಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 11:30ಕ್ಕೆ **“ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ಅಧಿವೇಶನ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆ – ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ”**ವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಕಾರ್ಯವೈಖರಿ ಕುರಿತು ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿ.ಎ., ಬಿ.ಎಸ್ಸಿ., ಮತ್ತು ಬಿ.ಕಾಂ. ವಿಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾದ 22 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಚನ್ನರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಣದ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ನೈಜ ವಿಚಾರಣೆಯನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸುಗಮ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೂರು ಗುಂಪುಗಳಾಗಿ ವಿಭಾಗಿಸಿ ಮೂರು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕವಿತಾ ಜೆ.ಎನ್., ಡಾ. ನಿರೂಪಮಾ ಎಂ., ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅರ್ಪಿತಾ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ವಿಚಾರಣಾ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ, ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧೀಶರು, ವಕೀಲರು ಹಾಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಅರಿವು ಪಡೆದರು.
ನಂತರ ಶ್ರೀ ಜಯರಾಮ್ ಅವರು, ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ವರದಿಗಾರರು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂವಾದ ನಡೆಸಿ ಅವರ ಅನುಭವದ ಕುರಿತು ಸಂದರ್ಶನ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡು, ಈ ಭೇಟಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಕಾರ್ಯವೈಖರಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಹಳ ಸಹಾಯಕವಾಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ಹಾಗೂ ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವಂತಾಯಿತು.
