The Department of Commerce organised a Workshop on Skills-Based Education on 13.08.2026 in the Seminar Hall of the college. The objective of the workshop was to raise awareness among students about the importance of skill development and its role in enhancing employability and career opportunities.
The programme was graced by the esteemed guests Mr Guru Prasad Pai and Ms Priya Sequeira, who served as the resource persons for the session. They shared valuable insights on the relevance of skills in today’s competitive world and explained how students can bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements.
During the session, the speakers discussed various essential skills, such as communication skills, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, leadership, and adaptability. They also guided students on how to prepare themselves for the corporate environment and encouraged them to focus on continuous learning and practical exposure.
The workshop was interactive and engaging, allowing students to ask questions and participate in discussions. The session helped students understand the significance of developing both professional and personal skills for future success.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource persons for their informative sessions and to the Department of Commerce for organising the workshop. Students found the workshop highly beneficial and motivating.

ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ 13.08.2026 ರಂದು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಸೆಮಿನಾರ್ ಹಾಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ “ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ” ಕುರಿತ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಮಹತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅದರ ಪಾತ್ರದ ಕುರಿತು ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರು ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಪೈ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಸಿಕ್ವೇರಾ ಅವರು ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಇವರು ಇಂದಿನ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಅಂತರವನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದರ ಕುರಿತು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂವಹನ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ, ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ, ತಂಡದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ, ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ಗುಣಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಪೊರೇಟ್ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ತಯಾರಾಗಲು ಯಾವ ರೀತಿಯ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದರ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವು ಸಂವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಸಕ್ತಿದಾಯಕವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಚರ್ಚೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರೆಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅರಿಯಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಾಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ವಿಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೇರಣಾದಾಯಕವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
