The Department of History organized a field visit to the historic Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, Nuggehalli on 16.03.2026. The temple is located about 15 km away from the college, making it a suitable place for students to explore local history and heritage.
A total of 35 students participated in the field visit. The main objective of the visit was to help students understand the historical importance, architectural style, and cultural heritage of the temple, which is a fine example of Hoysala period architecture.
The field visit was organised by Mr. Shekhimran and Mr. Ravivarma K. G. from the Department of History. During the visit, Mr. Jagannatha Sir, a retired high school teacher, served as the resource person and guide. He explained the history of the temple, its architectural features, sculptures, and its significance during the Hoysala period.
Students observed the structure, carvings, and artistic designs of the temple and gained practical knowledge about historical monuments. The interaction with the resource person helped them better understand the historical and cultural value of the site.
Overall, the field visit was informative and educational, providing students with a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real historical heritage.
ಇತಿಹಾಸ ವಿಭಾಗವು 16.03.2026 ರಂದು Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, Nuggehalli ಗೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಭೇಟಿಯನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿತು. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 15 ಕಿಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾರಂಪರ್ಯದ ಕುರಿತು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಉತ್ತಮ ಅವಕಾಶವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಭೇಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 35 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಭೇಟಿಯ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಮಹತ್ವ, ವಾಸ್ತುಶಿಲ್ಪ ಶೈಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಪರಂಪರೆ ಕುರಿತು ತಿಳಿಸುವುದಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಹೊಯ್ಸಳ ಕಾಲದ ವಾಸ್ತುಶಿಲ್ಪದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಭೇಟಿಯನ್ನು ಶೇಖ್ ಇಮ್ರಾನ್ ಮತ್ತು ರವಿವರ್ಮ ಕೆ. ಜಿ. ಅವರು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಾದ ಜಗನ್ನಾಥ ಸರ್ ಅವರು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಇತಿಹಾಸ, ಶಿಲ್ಪಕಲೆ, ವಾಸ್ತುಶಿಲ್ಪ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳರ ಕಾಲದ ಮಹತ್ವ ಕುರಿತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ರಚನೆ, ಶಿಲ್ಪಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಲಂಕಾರಿಕ ಕೆತ್ತನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನದಿಂದ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಅದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆದರು. ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಭೇಟಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತರಗತಿ ಪಾಠಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕವಾಗಿ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ಅರಿಯಲು ಸಹಾಯಕವಾಯಿತು.
ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಭೇಟಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವರ್ಧಕ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ಅನುಭವವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
