The Department of History organized a Special Lecture Programme on “Importance of Historical Records” on 23.03.2026 at 10:30 AM in the Seminar Hall.
The resource person for the session was Dr. Manjunatha H.L., Deputy Director, Archives Department, Mysore.
Dr. Manjunatha H.L. delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the importance of historical records in understanding the past, preserving cultural heritage, and supporting research. He explained the role of archives in maintaining valuable documents and emphasized the need for proper documentation and conservation techniques. The lecture also provided students with practical knowledge about archival practices and their relevance in historical studies.
In his presidential address, Dr. M.K. Manjunatha emphasized the significance of history in shaping society and highlighted the crucial role of preserving historical records for future generations. He encouraged students to develop an interest in archival studies and research, and stressed the importance of maintaining authentic records to understand cultural and historical developments accurately.
