The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit and Student Welfare Committee of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna, organized an Essay Writing Competition as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign) on 19th September 2026 at the College Lecture Hall. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
A total of 34 students participated in the essay writing competition, expressing their thoughts and ideas on the importance of preventing drug abuse and building a drug-free society.
Mr. P. Narasimhamurthy, Convener of the Youth Red Cross (YRC), delivered a brief introduction to the programme and highlighted the significance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
Dr. M. K. Manjunatha, Principal, addressed the students and explained the harmful effects of substance abuse. He emphasized how students can protect themselves from addiction, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and benefit from staying away from drugs. He encouraged students to develop positive habits and contribute to creating a drug-free society.
Mrs. Arpitha HJ, IQAC Coordinator, graced the programme with her presence and extended her support to the awareness initiative.
The programme encouraged students to understand the importance of a drug-free lifestyle and actively contribute to the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
