A pledge program on “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” and “Kushal Bharat Abhiyan” was successfully conducted on 25-04-2026 at 11:30 AM under the joint initiative of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and the Youth Red Cross Unit on our college premises.
The program
aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of substance
abuse and the importance of skill development for building a strong and
self-reliant nation. The event was organised in the presence of respected college
faculties, who actively supported and encouraged the initiative. The
event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of B.A.,
B.Sc., and B.Com streams, with a total of 150 students
taking part in the pledge programme. The session began with an introduction to
the objectives of both campaigns, emphasising the need for a drug-free society
and the role of youth in nation-building through skill enhancement.
Faculty members
addressed the students, highlighting the dangers of drug addiction and the
importance of discipline, education, and skill development. They motivated
students to adopt healthy lifestyles and become responsible citizens.
Following the
awareness session, all participants solemnly took a pledge to stay away from
drugs and contribute towards the vision of a drug-free India.
They also pledged to actively engage in skill development initiatives to
support the mission of Kushal Bharat.
The program
concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing
units and the valuable presence of faculty members. The event was impactful and
successfully instilled awareness, responsibility, and commitment among the
students.
The Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Unit organized an "Anaemia Awareness and Haemoglobin Testing Camp” on 17.04.2026 in collaboration with Harshitha Institution. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about anaemia and to promote better health practices.
During the programme, Mr. Ramashetty delivered an informative session on anaemia, explaining its causes, symptoms, and preventive measures. He emphasised the importance of maintaining proper nutrition and regular health check-ups to avoid complications related to low haemoglobin levels.
The Principal addressed the gathering and advised the students to adopt healthy food habits, highlighting the importance of a balanced diet rich in iron and essential nutrients for maintaining good health.
As part of the camp, haemoglobin levels of students were tested. Students identified with low haemoglobin levels were provided with iron supplements and were advised to improve their dietary intake. They were also instructed to recheck their haemoglobin levels after one month to monitor improvement.
The programme was highly beneficial in creating health awareness and encouraging students to take proactive steps towards maintaining their well-being. The organisers expressed their gratitude to Harshitha Institution for their support and cooperation in successfully conducting the camp.

The program commenced at 10:00 AM with a symbolic watering of the plant, marking the event's inauguration. The programme was convened by Dr. Nirupama M., who coordinated the activities effectively.
On this occasion, Mr. Bharathkumar, Convenor of the Bharateeya Red Cross Samsthe, Taluk Ghataka, Channarayapatna, addressed the gathering. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of blood donation and encouraged students to actively participate in such noble causes, emphasizing how a single unit of blood can save lives.
Following the inaugural session, students voluntarily participated in the blood donation drive. A total of 50 units of blood were collected from enthusiastic donors. Simultaneously, an eye check-up camp was conducted for all students and interested faculty members, ensuring awareness and early detection of eye-related issues.
The program was a great success, reflecting a spirit of service and social responsibility among the students and staff.
