The Department of Chemistry, Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna, organized a Poster Presentation Competition on 22nd September 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chemistry Laboratory to commemorate the contributions of Michael Faraday and promote scientific interest among students. Students presented informative posters highlighting Faraday’s major contributions to chemistry, including benzene, liquefaction of gases, carbon chlorides, and the laws of electrolysis.
Around 30 Science students from Navodaya PU College, Channarayapatna, accompanied by Mrs. Kalpa, Lecturer in Chemistry, and Mrs. Vidya, Lecturer in Physics, visited the exhibition and explored the posters. Dr. B. N. Chandrashekar, Head, Department of Chemistry, explained Faraday’s life, major discoveries, and contributions to electrochemistry and electromagnetic science. He emphasized the importance of scientific curiosity, experimentation, and innovation. The activity helped students develop scientific awareness, presentation skills, and an appreciation of Faraday’s lasting contributions to modern science.
