The event was observed with devotion and enthusiasm, highlighting the cultural significance of honouring instruments of knowledge and work. Faculty members, students, and staff actively participated in the rituals, after which sweets were distributed, fostering a spirit of joy, unity, and reverence for tradition.

The Department of Botany organised a programme on Botanical Insights: Identification and Uses of Plants on 30th September 2025 for the first-year students.
The programme was held in the college botanical garden.

Hands-on Training in Insect Identification at SAFGC Botanical Garden
The Department of Zoology organized a Hands-on Training in Insect Identification on 29th September 2025 for the first-year students at the SAFGC Botanical Garden.
The session was guided by Dr. Nirupama M. and Mrs. Radhamma K. M., who explained the key features of insects and helped the students identify various insect orders through field observation. The resource persons highlighted important morphological characteristics such as body segmentation, wing structure, antennae type, and leg adaptations, enabling students to distinguish between different insect groups.
This hands-on exposure provided the students with practical knowledge of basic taxonomy, insect diversity, and ecological significance, enhancing their field-based learning experience.

Industrial visit to Chamundeshwari Sugar Industry, Srinivaspura, Channarayapatna
The Department of Commerce organized an industrial visit to Chamundeshwari Sugar Industry, Srinivaspura, Channarayapatna, Hassan District on 27th September 2025. A total of 43 students participated in this visit.
The students were accompanied by Mr. Sridhar and Mrs. Narasimhamurthy, who oversaw and coordinated the visit.
The visit provided students with practical exposure to industrial operations, enabling them to observe the sugar production process and understand real-world applications of commerce and business management concepts.

Debate Competition on “Science vs. Superstition”
The Department of Physics organised a Debate Competition on the theme “Science vs. Superstition” on 26th September 2025 in the Seminar Hall. The objective of the programme was to encourage critical thinking among students and to provide a platform to express their views on scientific reasoning and traditional beliefs.
A total of five teams, each consisting of four students, actively participated in the competition. The participants presented well-researched arguments both in favour of and against the topic, making the session engaging and thought-provoking.
The competition was evaluated by a distinguished panel of jury members: Dr. Chandrashekar, Mr. Sridhar A. N., and Mr. Ningaraju, who assessed the teams on content, clarity, presentation, and rebuttal skills.
The event was convened by Ms. Arpitha H. J., who coordinated the programme effectively. The debate concluded with valuable feedback from the jury, highlighting the importance of rational thinking while respecting cultural practices.
Overall, the event was a great success and enriched the knowledge and confidence of the students.
Celebrate World Environmental Health Day
Bharat Scouts and Guides commemorated World Environmental Health Day with an event aimed at promoting environmental awareness and health consciousness. The program was graced by Mr. C N Ashok as the chief guest. Mr. Jayram A M, Secretary of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Channarayapatna Taluk, also attended the event.
The event was successfully organized under the guidance of the conveners, Dr. Praveen Kumar S and Nirossha M R, who coordinated various activities and sessions focused on environmental protection and sustainable practices.
Participants engaged in discussions and activities emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy environment for the well-being of communities.
