The Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College, Channarayapatna, organized a Special Lecture and Campus Cleaning Activity titled “Empowerment of Rovers and Rangers through Volunteerism and Community Participation” on March 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM in the Seminar Hall.
The program began with the Bharat Scouts and Guides
prayer. The event was presided over by the Principal, Dr. M. K. Manjunatha.
Mr. A. M.
Jayaram, Secretary of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Channarayapatna,
attended the program as the Chief Guest and Resource Person. Dr. Praveen Kumar S,
Assistant Professor and Rover Leader, welcomed the gathering and highlighted
the importance of volunteerism, social responsibility, and community
participation among the youth. Ms. Anusha, Ranger, efficiently
anchored the program.
The resource person, Mr. A. M. Jayaram,
delivered an insightful lecture on the motto and principles of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.
He emphasized the importance of volunteerism, discipline, and service to
society. He also spoke about the growing issue of excessive mobile phone usage among
students and explained how it can negatively affect their
academic performance and personal development. He encouraged the Rovers and Rangers
to actively participate in social service and guide society in a positive
direction. He advised them to counsel and support people who are struggling
with harmful habits such as alcohol addiction, drug abuse, smoking, and drinking, and
motivate them to come out of these habits. He stressed that service to society is the
core motto of the Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Following the lecture, the Principal, Dr. M. K.
Manjunatha, addressed the gathering and spoke about the
importance of organizations such as Bharat Scouts and Guides, NCC, and NSS
in developing leadership qualities, discipline, and a spirit of service among
students. He encouraged students to actively participate in such activities for
the betterment of society.
After the lecture session, the Rovers and Rangers
actively participated in a Campus Cleaning Activity as a part
of their service initiative. The volunteers cleaned the college campus and
surrounding areas, demonstrating their commitment to cleanliness, social
responsibility, and community service. The program concluded
successfully with enthusiastic participation from the Rovers and Rangers.
Finally, all the Rovers and Rangers had lunch together on the college campus,
marking the successful completion of the day’s activities.
