The Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Unit of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College organized an awareness and mobilization programme under AIDS Suraksha Abhiyana – 2026 on 01.09.2026. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among students about HIV/AIDS, its prevention, transmission, treatment, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
As part of the programme, Mr. Kenchegowdru, Counsellor, District Health Department, interacted with the students and delivered an informative awareness session on HIV/AIDS. He explained the modes of transmission, preventive measures, the importance of early testing and treatment, and the need to avoid misconceptions and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS. He also emphasized the role of young people in spreading correct information and creating an HIV/AIDS-free society.
The programme provided students with an opportunity to understand the importance of HIV/AIDS prevention and encouraged them to become responsible ambassadors of health awareness in their families and communities. The programme was successfully conducted with the active participation of students and the support of the Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Unit.
