The Department of Political Science of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College organized a Democracy Day Pledge Programme during the morning assembly on 16th September 2026. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the values and principles enshrined in the Preamble to the Constitution of India.
Mr. Siddaraju provided information about the significance of Democracy Day and highlighted the importance of democratic values, responsible citizenship, and active participation in a democratic society.
Dr. N. T. Nagaraja, Head of the Department of Political Science, explained and led the recitation of the Preamble to the Constitution of India, guiding the faculty members and students in understanding its key principles of Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity.
Following the explanation, all faculty members and students collectively recited the Preamble and took the Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to constitutional values and responsible citizenship. The programme helped strengthen awareness of democratic principles and constitutional responsibilities among the students.
