The Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit of Sri Adichunchanagiri First Grade College organized an Eco-Friendly Ganesha Making Competition on 12th September 2026 with the objective of creating awareness about environmental protection and encouraging students to celebrate festivals in a sustainable manner.
A total of 10 teams, consisting of 3 members in each team, participated enthusiastically in the competition. Students showcased their creativity, artistic skills, teamwork, and innovative ideas by making Ganesha idols using eco-friendly and biodegradable materials. The activity provided an opportunity for students to understand the importance of avoiding harmful materials and promoting environmentally responsible practices during festive celebrations.
The competition created an atmosphere of enthusiasm, creativity, and social responsibility among the participants. The students actively worked together and demonstrated their commitment towards protecting nature while preserving the cultural and spiritual significance of the festival.
Following the competition, Ganesha Pooja was performed by the students and faculty members. The pooja created a peaceful and devotional atmosphere on the college campus and marked the celebration with traditional spirit and collective participation.
The programme emphasized the message of “Celebrate with devotion, create with creativity, and protect the environment.” It also encouraged students to become responsible citizens by adopting eco-friendly practices in their daily lives and celebrations.
The entire programme was coordinated by Rover Leader Dr. Praveen Kumar S. and Ranger Leader Mrs. Niroosha M.R. The initiative was successfully conducted with the active participation and cooperation of the students and faculty members.
